About NICC
OUR NEW VISION STATEMENT: Love Vettes, Have Fun, Give Back
NORTHERN ILLINOIS CORVETTE CLUB, INC. (NICC) was organized in 1972 and is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of CORVETTE automobile ownership and operation, collect and publish information relative thereto and further encourage others to participate in the ownership and enjoyment connected with the use of the CORVETTE and to that end hold meetings, affairs, events, and other gatherings in furtherance of this purpose.
We are incorporated in the State of Illinois and have elected officers comprising our Board of Directors. Our annual membership of around 150 hails from the surrounding area of our declared home city, Rockford IL.
Club activities include such social events as monthly business meetings, picnic, progressive dinner party, parades, winter activities, fall 3-day and/or 1-day color run, spring run, caravans, club drag racing day, annual Holiday banquet, etc. as well as competitive events such as rallies, low speed events, concours, and uns. Our quartermaster has club patches and shirts available as well as many other Corvette-related items for purchase from the local, regional, and national level.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS CORVETTE CLUB is a member club of the National Council of Corvette Clubs, Inc. (NCCC). NCCC is a national organization composed of more than 270 Corvette clubs and over 17,000 Corvette owners across the United States. NCCC provides many benefits to its members and their clubs that are made possible only because so many Corvette owners have united and worked together as a group since its inception in 1959. Some of the benefits include third party insurance for sanctioned and non-sanctioned events, host liquor liability for those NICC members who are NCCC members, various handbooks including the By-laws, standing rules, and a competition sanction program providing consistent rules and guidelines to all events throughout the country, which is comprised of fifteen regions.
Since 1977, NCCC and its members have chosen and provided benefits to a selected national charity. These charities started with Muscular Dystrophy, followed by the Spina Bifida Association of America and our current charity, the National Kidney Foundation.
NICC has been proud to contribute to the National Kidney Foundation as well as local charitable organizations, which are determined by NICC Charity Committee volunteers who review and recommend suggestions made by NICC members.
Membership in the NORTHERN ILLINOIS CORVETTE CLUB is open to anyone interested in participation and working in the organization and activities of the club. The only stipulation is that you must Love Corvettes to become a member. The Club just requests that you complete a NICC membership form.
